Description

Panicum Hot Rod is a beautiful ornamental grass that has blue-green leaves in the spring that turn red later in the spring. In summer and early autumn, the leaves are deep maroon. The change in colour of Hot Rod is earlier than that of other Panicum. The purple flower panicles appear at the end of summer / beginning of autumn. The growth habit is upright. Hot Rod becomes approx. 90 cm high and 60 cm wide and is very suitable for mass planting or for in a pot on a balcony or terrace. Hot Rod is also an asset in mixed containers! Plant this Panicum in full sun in a well-drained, fertile soil. Hardy to -35 ºC.
